Yoga - Not Only Fitness

Over The past few decades, a misconception has taken root in the heads of people. A belief is that Yoga, is about exercise and fitness. An added offender is that Yogasanas (or Asanas) are only body movements and poses that are complicated to perform but make the body supple.

Yes, postures or asana do make the body hydrated. Just Like stretching and other types of body movements do. However, yogasanas and Yoga are really much more than just fitness tricks.

In the West, Someplace around the 19th Century and 20th Century, Indians introduced Yoga into the folks, so that they too may benefit from it. It was a great success, as expected. In order to make it even more appealing to the general public, However there started a commercialization of yoga. Yoga went from being an art, to a coaching session.
This is to Understand, is dangerous. Yoga is not something which should be performed with the wrong thoughts or goals. It has consequences of its own.

Yoga is a way of life. It is not a ritual to be performed, It is a habit that you makes a part of life. The ultimate aim of Yoga is to achieve Moksha or liberation. But yoga has a massive influence on our day-to-day lives.

Five basic principles of Yoga

• Asana (postures)

• Shavasana (Comfort )
• Sattvic (Right Diet)

It Is when these 5 basic principles are followed closely you can call himself a practitioner of Yoga. When someone performs yoga, he becomes one with the universal energy and surrenders himself. It's a source of life and should not be treated lightly.

Let us look at some facets of yoga. of Yoga
In Hinduism, there are the kinds of Yoga, that are to be practiced. Please note, here Yoga doesn't speak about postures. Yoga is in reality a practice. It's a way of life, as I mentioned previously. These schools of yoga proved part of life.

1. Jnana Yoga
Jnana Means'understanding' in Sanskrit. In the ancient times, when there was a system of'Gurukul' (students stayed with educators and gained knowledge), this was the initiation of the pupil into schooling and the realm of knowledge. The teachings included information about everything. This Jnana yoga became the basis for knowledge and understanding.
2. Bhakti Yoga
Bhakti Or devotion, is an essential aspect of yoga. One expressed devotion and love towards God. It doesn't refer to some God, simply energy that is universal. The thought was to move the yogi.
3. Karma Yoga
Karma Means Duty in Sanskrit. In the Hindu faith, the importance of performing Karma or ones obligation, was of the maximum importance. Actions and all duties had to be performed with fantastic reverence. It's supposedly the method to progress in spiritual life.
4. Laya Yoga or Kundalini Yoga
It Is the form of yoga done by means of standard practice of meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra and yoga asana. It's known as the yoga of awakening. One becomes more conscious of the encompassing and conscious of oneself. It concentrates to others and recovery of mind, the body and soul.
5. Hatha Yoga
It's a system of Techniques that are Bodily supplementary to a broad conception of yoga. There's a belief that Lord Shiva himself was the founder of Hatha Yoga.
This Faculty of yoga is what deals with bodily exercise and asana or postures. Hatha yoga is much more known as a physical exercise in the world.
Advantages of Yoga
Yoga Has physical benefits, is something which is common knowledge. But the actual power of yoga is seen on the mental and other features of life.
Following are a few of the major advantages of yoga.

Yoga Helps make you walk taller and stand up straighter. The entire slumped shoulder issue goes off. Also, it makes you look graceful and toned.
